We are holding the fourth annual Media Studies Awards Ceremony in the school hall next week where we will be showcasing some of the superb video production work carried out by GCSE, BTEC and A’ Level Media Studies students over the last year...and tickets are available NOW!
If you come you will be treated to a succession of clips and short films (both fiction and documentary) representing the very best of their achievements, and the winning efforts will receive trophies and certificates from Channel 5 news reporter, Lindley Gooden.
Nominations include: hard-hitting pieces on school bullying, peer group pressure and teenage smoking; a number of thoughtful investigations into a wide range of topics from body dysmorphic disorder to AIDS to pirate radio; bhangra music videos and arthouse film trailers; and a special guest film from an ex-student (now studying film at university) that commemorates the 70th anniversary of the Cable Street riot against fascism.

Since this year...we keep getting bigger and bigger! GCSE work has hit an all-time high and also deserves to be shown.

Calm down everyone - listen to Bushara's voice of reason! This is still your event (ie AS students) as you still get as much screen time as Yesr 12s always have done.
If you remember - we've always shown other films too...either guest films or films from previous years. This is no different in that sense!

I have taken into account what bushara and u have said Sir. But i still feel that it is OUR day! You never did this before its funny how everything changes for our year!
Yeh i agree they all need to be shown but cudnt u book another day for them?!?!?! This just means twice the trouble on thursday!!!!
sir i think on the nite u shud like stop for about 2 minutes wen its time to break our fast n announce its time to... coz lots of us will b fastin n everyone will like u more :D
What night is the awards on? Maybe I should pop down and see if the standard was as high as last year. If you haven't been before it's an amazing night. Miss Roylance
