Ealing Cinema Petition

It's scandalous that Ealing - one of the historic homes of film-making - hasn't had a cinema since the old Empire closed in 2008! Even though there are plenty of others across London, this is especially disappointing for Media students and teachers!

Fortunately, there is a petition that we can all sign which aims to put pressure on the developers who currently own the site to get moving on resolving the issue. One can only assume it is being left derelict by the developers as a strategy to force the council into granting them planning permission to build far more lucrative luxury apartments (which won't benefit the local community at all).

Please read the article about the petition. And, if you agree we should have a cinema then sign it! If things work out we might get a new cinema by the end of the decade!
