All Year 12/13 media students need to be at the school gates at 8.50am on Thursday 21.10.10 for the Media Magazine Conference.
Bring pen and paper with you as you'll be required to take notes, and check the conference details beforehand so you know what to expect.
The first three lectures are crucial...
Chewing gum for the brain: Why do people talk such rubbish about Media Studies?
Why Media Studies is worth studying.
Online media, Cleggmania, and the Cowell Factor.
How do online media and convergence impact on the ways audiences and producers use and create media?
Perfecting your production work.
How to get the most out of your practical projects.
After the conference, homework for 12/13s will be to summarise your notes for these three lectures and post them on your blog (MEST3 blog for Year 13s), to be completed by Monday 01.11.10.
Also: please do the online survey to give the organisers some feedback about the event.
Important pre-conference reading/activities that you MUST all do beforehand...
...in particular, read the articles, visit Pete’s blog and, most important of all, have a go at Julian McDougall’s task (print off p1 of the document above, fill in and bring to the conference).
